We had a really good week at Jasmine Cottage having never visited Wiltshire before. The village of Steeple Ashton is lovely with the village store supply most things you need and the pub being there for a drink or an enjoyable evening meal.

We found Jasmine Cottage a really good base for travelling around Wiltshire with the highlight being our day at Longleat.

Jasmine Cottage had all we needed and was comfortable and well equipped.

The whole process from making the booking to our actual stay was made simple and straight forward. We would highly recommend Jasmine Cottage to anyone considering a stay in the area.

Second visit to lovely cottage in a relatively undiscovered part of the country (apart from around the time of the solstice, of course). Clean and well-equipped accommodation which turns out to be roomier than would at first appear from outside. Secure rear garden for inquisitive dogs or children who have slipped the lead.

With a shop and a pub you could be fairly self-sufficient in the village but if you want to venture further afield there are many places of interest within a 10 -15 mile radius. Recommend walk from Bratton up to the Westbury white horse and, a little further afield, the circular walk from Avebury which takes in the West Kennett long barrow and Silbury Hill as well as the stone circle. Park at the Sanctuary on the A4 rather than the car park in Avebury which will sting you for £7.

Lacock only a 15 minute drive away. We had a good meal at The George, which was not as expensive as we had expected given all of the film and television associations which could be capitalised upon.

We are not gourmets but, as far as we could tell, the takeaway from the Thai Orchid in Westbury was very good value for money. We have left an up-to-date menu in the cottage.

Thanks for a great time. We definitely plan to be back.

We had another perfect week's stay at lovely Jasmine Cottage. The booking process is always easy and very efficient, the website being full of helpful information and tips on the area, not to mention the lovely library of information provided by the owners on what to do and what to see, which is very helpful indeed. Jasmine Cottage is always very clean and welcoming and there's everything there that we need and more; the kitchen is fully equipped and the bedrooms are cosy. The cottage garden is a little haven of tranquillity, so relaxing and very secluded and sheltered. It's wonderful to have a log fire on a cold evening and fab to have Wifi! The Longs Arms in the village is a very welcoming pub, they have at the moment only two veggie choices, however, both are tasty and the staff are very friendly and helpful as are the volunteers in the little village shop which is handy to have. We loved walking on the Ridgeway from Hackpen Hill and Barbary Castle is amazing with lovely views, as is Bratton Camp just down the road and the Westbury White Horse, Cley Hill, Figsbury Ring, Pepperbox Hill - all have beautiful views of wonderful Wiltshire. Glastonbury Tor, Wearyall Hill and the town itself are always a delight. Wilton is a lovely town to wander around as is Castle Combe and Malmesbury. We can't wait to return to lovely Jasmine Cottage.

Response: You and Pixie the dog are always most welcome.

Wiltshire is a lovely county with lots to see and do. People we met were friendly and helpful. Jasmine Cottage is very clean and upon arrival we found lots of information on places to visit plus instructions on how to use the appliances in the Cottage. Steeple Ashton is a pretty village although we were somewhat disappointed with the local pub which we felt was trying to be a gastro-pub and not quite succeeding. However, having said that it is a friendly pub and great to stroll up to of an evening for a drink. Steeple Ashton is also in an ideal situation for touring Wiltshire being close to Bradford On Avon where they have a market on a Thursday, Devizes and the Caen Locks and Avebury. Glad we visited the area.
